Selah will be two months old on Saturday.

That was the first sentence of a blog I started two weeks ago. She is now almost 10 weeks old! I have wanted to update the blog but SOMEONE is capturing my attention with her smiles and coos. Who wants to stare at a computer screen when I have this to look at?

Our summer is coming to an end or so it feels. I can’t believe how fast its gone. We’ve had visitors from near and far. We spent a night away in Myrtle Beach, our first night away from home. Selah did great! We celebrated July 4th at the lake, we didn’t dip Selah yet but her time will soon come. Tron built a garden and is ready to plant things.

Selah’s hair is falling out which saddens me. She had so much of it and now she has infant bald spots. Darnit! Her smiles are often across her face and I love love love to see them! What a difference it makes! She’s also “talking” to us and oohing.

We took her to her 2-month doctor appointment. If you don’t have children yet, when you do, pay someone to do this for you. The whole shots experience was heartbreaking for all of us. She cried in the office and then was okay until we got home a few hours later and took her out of her carseat. Word of advice- pump her full of tylenol before the visit! She cried and cried at home and finally she cried herself to sleep while I rubbed her face. We had small group that night and for those of you who know how much I love small group, I could not even think of it while hearing her in pain. and if you don’t have children I know you don’t believe me but just wait! You know all those things your mother tells you before you become a mother yourself? They all come true. Don’t try to deny it. Anyway I’m already dreading the 4month appointment. And when she can say “No mommy please!!” I’ll probably really have to pay someone. At her two month appointment she weighed 10 pounds, 12 ounces and was 22 inches long. Her head circumference was 39 cm. She’s got a big brain. ;)

This last weekend we had the baby dedication. Tron’s family was in from CA and we decided it would be the perfect time to do it. We asked the church if we could since they usually do it on a different weekend and they graciously agreed. There were a lot of people there supporting Selah! Tron and I, my two sisters and parents and grandparents, Tron’s 2 brothers and parents from CA, my aunt, uncle, and cousins from Orlando, and 4 of my other cousins. Plus all of our church family. That alone was awesome- to have that many people there supporting us and supporting Selah.

Beyond that, our pastor did an unbelievable job. We are so lucky to have a pastor that is also our friend and has been for quite a few years. It was an amazing moment, and we’ll never forget it. Selah, on the other hand, slept right through it. ;)

Well, I have updated the blog, the last straw was a request to update the blog before she goes off to college, so I decided I better do it. By the way, her going off to college is lightyears away…right?!

Baby Dedication:

By the way…10 weeks old on Saturday and still hard to believe she’s mine. I love my baby girl!
